Benedetto Latteri (1830-01-23⁠^{⟮1⟯Portale Antenati} – bef 1890⁠^{⟮2⟯He was noted as deceased in his son Antonino’s marriage record.}) and Maria Teresa Marino (1834-03-07⁠^{⟮3⟯Portale Antenati} – 1909-12-04⁠^{⟮4⟯FamilySearch}) were my great-great-grandparents, being the parents of Anthony Latteri. They were born in San Fratello, Sicily, Italy, and, so far as I can tell, lived their whole lives there.

Origins

Benedetto was the son of Salvatore Latteri (c.1798 – 1851-08-04) and Marianna Carroccio (1808 – 1862-09-09), who married in San Fratello on 1825-11-03.⁠^{⟮5⟯Portale Antenati} Salvatore was the son of Innocenzo Latteri. Marianna remarried to Cirino Rausa after Salvatore’s death.

Maria Teresa was the daughter of Giuseppe Marino (1782 – 1840-02-05) and Benedetta Versaci (1802 – 1858-04-23), who married in San Fratello on 1824-09-12.⁠^{⟮6⟯Portale Antenati} Benedetta remarried to Salvadore di Fede.

Family

Benedetto and Maria Teresa married in San Fratello on 1855-08-16.⁠^{⟮7⟯Portale Antenati} I have found records of five children. Other than my ancestor Anthony, I cannot find any record of any of them outside San Fratello; however, such records would be harder to find.

• Salvatore Latteri (* 1856-04-23)⁠^{⟮8⟯Portale Antenati}, married widow Nicoletta Bosco; their last marriage proclamation was on 1875-10-04⁠^{⟮9⟯FamilySearch}, so they likely married a few days later, although the marriage record is missing though indexed⁠^{⟮10⟯FamilySearch}.
• Giuseppe Latteri (* 1859-02-09⁠^{⟮11⟯Portale Antenati}), married widow Marianna Messina Baldassone on 1901-02-27⁠^{⟮12⟯FamilySearch}.
• Antonino Latteri (1861-10-14 – 1960-05-12), my great-grandfather.
• Marianna Latteri (1864-02-18⁠^{⟮13⟯Portale Antenati} – 1900-04-26⁠^{⟮14⟯FamilySearch}), married Carmelo Regalbuto.
• Luigi Latteri (1866×7 – 1931-01-05⁠^{⟮15⟯FamilySearch}), married Benedetta Lando on 1898-05-09 aged 31⁠^{⟮16⟯FamilySearch}, although later records show him as younger. He immigrated to New York City by 1905.⁠^{⟮17⟯FamilySearch}
