Paola Parafioriti (c.1746 – 1821-08-16), her surname sometimes shortened to Fioriti, was my 5th-great-grandmother and the gateway to my only Italian ancestors found to have originated outside of San Fratello. She was born in Tortorici, Messina, Sicily, the daughter of Giuseppe Parafioriti and Maria Triscari, and married Pietro Cracò, who predeceased her.

I am descended from this couple through their daughter Rosa Cracò (1779 – 1854-05-25), wife of Benedetto Latteri. Their great-granddaughter Giuseppa Latteri emigrated to America.

Paola was in San Fratello by 1779, when Rosa was born. I have not determined whether either or both of Paola’s parents also moved to San Fratello, nor where Pietro was born, nor where the couple married.
