John in 1908

John Stanton McPherson Sr. (1875-05-23 – 1950-04-05), family nickname Pappy or Love Pappy, was my patrimaternal great-grandfather, being the father of John McPherson Jr., my grandfather. He married Martha Jane Fisher on 1908-12-30. He was born and lived his whole life in Rhea County, Tennessee. He was the son of Joel McPherson and Hannah Ladd.

John and Martha had ten children, all born in Rhea County, Tennessee, with 22 grandchildren:
