Herman Bingham Fleming (1856-02-25 – 1929-04-24)⟮1⟯FamilySearch and Jeannette June Burt (1861-07-22 – 1948-12-20) were my great-great-grandparents. They married 1879-06-02⟮2⟯FamilySearch and had ten children, including my great-grandmother Mary Ryder.
Herman was the son of Elijah Fleming and Permelia A. Bingham.⟮2⟯FamilySearch Jeannette was the daughter of Elijah Burt and Margaret Fraser.
Spelling
Jeannette’s name is spelled in a variety of ways in records: Jannett, Jenette, even Janet, and others. I am somewhat arbitrarily here using the spelling on her death record.
Notably, her grave has the spelling Jannett, although it also wrongly has her maiden name as Burke, so I’m weighing it less on that account.
The name may derive from her maternal aunt, whose name’s spelling is similarly variable.

- Lois Margaret Fleming (1889-10-01 – 1928-02-24), married 1st Herbert Edwin Ryder, divorced, 2nd Peter Beauregard, divorced, 3rd Joseph Benjamin Palmer (Alice’s ex-husband). Through her first husband she is the grandmother of Lucius Cousino.
- Roy Page Fleming (1891-12-08 – 1965-02-16), never married.
- Charles Russell Fleming (1894-04-05 or 13 – 1966-07-15), married Vinne Harris.
- Gaylord Archibald Fleming (1896-07-05 – 1938-08-10), married Florence Edith Schrodt.
- Myrtle Bell Fleming (1898-10-22 – 1989-07-12), married Edward John Curavoo.
- Hazel Clare Fleming (1901-09-22 – 1987-07-14), married Samuel Francis Joseph Fox.
