The following is my speculated ancestry based on the assumption that my male-line ancestor is Elisha Rich, husband of Mary Davis, as suggested by DNA evidence in concert with geographical and other evidence. It replaces Ebenezer Rider at °002 with an unknown Rich, one of whose known sons is conjectured to be the biological grandfather of William Henry Harrison Ryder.
The labelling makes a reasonable assumption about the number of generations to me, but this might be off by one. E.g., we could have that one of the siblings under °002 is William Henry's grandfather, or (barely possibly) that one's grandson is his grandfather, although especially the latter would be chronologically difficult.

This is my hypothesized last-known patrilineal ancestor. There have been several suggestions connecting him to other Riches, but these remain speculative. However, DNA shows his connection to Michael DeRich, also of Salem.

The case that Mary, wife of Edward, was Mary, daughter of William Curtis, was made by Linzee (1918); so far as I have determined, his argument, which is largely process of elimination, has not been improved upon.
Anderson (1995) does not list Mary as one of William's children, even though he quotes a church record naming her as such, and she is on the Lyon manifest.

Nickerson (1979) has Thomas's mother as Richard's wife Margaret, contradicting Bartrum (1983), who assigns him to Richard's mistress Isabel. Since Nickerson was more of an amateur in this area and leaned heavily on experts, it seems this must simply be an error on his part. Sources generally include in Margaret's issue by Richard only two sons, George and William.
